Reflection: My Computer Applications classes I took in the beginning of my high school
career are becoming very helpful in my internship. Quarter Note Music Store
offers music lessons of all kinds. When people come into the store looking for
lessons, I have to check and edit the teaching schedules on an excel spread
sheet. In addition to the schedules, price charts are also made through excel.
My knowledge of excel helps greatly to set up price charts with formulas to add
tax to the product. In addition to Microsoft Office, my class room experience
with guitars and music have helped me direct customers to the product they
need. I have played guitar my whole life, so whenever someone comes in with a
guitar question or needs a guitar re-strung I am happy to help and do whatever
is needed to be done. The only thing I wish I had learned before the internship
is just general information about band instruments. I knew absolutely nothing
about band instruments before starting my internship, and people often come in
with questions, so I have had to learn a lot.
